Order of the Phoenix
The fifth film in the series welcomed another British director David Yates. He was to remain with the franchise going on to direct the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the final chapter Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix finally sees Hermione, Harry and Ron begin to fight back as their beloved Hogwarts falls increasingly under the control of the Ministry of Magic and the new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor Dolores Umbridge, superbly played by Imelda Staunton.
Knowing that dark forces are amassing, the trio organise themselves and fellow students into the DA (Dumbledore’s Army) and in secret begin to practice practical magic and self defence.
“Order of Phoenix is a real turning point for Hermione and her friends as they finally begin to take a stance and organise themselves. I love the way Hermione develops in this film. She is the one who instigates Dumbledore’s Army and she is so strong and fearless throughout even when finally battling with Bellatrix and the Death Eaters” Emma says.
The film also stars Helena Bonham-Carter as Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange, cousin to Sirius Black and Voldemort’s most dedicated supporter.
