Emma collaborates with Alberta Ferretti on new ethical fashion line
Keen to perpetuate her on-going interest with ethical fashion, Emma’s been working with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti on a line that features a series of environmentally friendly dresses.
The collection, christened Pure Threads, launched on 22nd March 2011. Boasting relaxed dresses, lace-embroidered denim and 70s blouses, the line draws some of its inspiration from 60s model, actress and style icon, Jane Birkin.
Speaking about the new collection, Alberta Ferretti said: "Fresh, serene, and intelligent, these looks are perfect for Emma. They're chic but scrupulous down to the very last stitch.”
"The collection is completely organic, from the picking and spinning of our cottons to the washing, weaving and dyeing of our textiles.”
Ferretti is renowned for creating elegant and classic looks. Her designs are unique, commonly feature characteristically subtle styling. With one of her most recent lines taking inspiration from the Great Gatsby and the 1920s ‘flapper girl’ style, she frequently reworks past looks to create striking gowns that whisper elegance and class.
Speaking of her desire to continue forging a path into ethical clothing fashion, Emma said: "I'm happy to encourage anyone interested in making conscientious clothing from raw, sustainable materials, so much so that I'll work for free."
